示例:This year summer vacation, I read the American well-known writer Hemingway's novel " old person and sea ".

Review of ‘Oliver Twist’
As you have read ‘Oliver Twist’, a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century which has became one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens, you can really understand the worlds‘regain the nature of goodness’.

Charles Dickens was born in a poor family ,having a poor background ,he wrote this novel in his twenties ,who was just with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals,as well as to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of ‘Oliver Twist’ was an orphan named Oliver Twist, when he was born ,he was thrown into a world which is full of poverty and crime. He has suffered enormous pains, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt really sorry for the poor boy, but at the same time I detest the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as all the happy stories do, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a

happy life at the end. One of the plots which attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

Sometimes,in the deep and quiet nights,I keep asking myself, how can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

Reflect on myself,I define the nature of goodness to be one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself. To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

There are some worlds in an essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’.

All in all,if a person without goodness ,he is destined to lose everything. Thereby, all those ‘vermin-to-be’ should learn from the book and remember to regain the nature of goodness in the bottom of theirs’hearts.

The Little Prince first published in 1943, is a novella and the most famous work of the French aristocrat, writer, poet and pioneering aviator Antoinede Saint-Exupéry(1900–1944).The novella is both the most read and most translated book in the French language, and was voted the best book of the 20th century in France. Translated into more than 250 languages and dialects, and it has become one of the best-selling books ever published. Saint-Exupéry, a laureate of several of France's highest literary awards and areserve military pilot at the start of the Second World War, wrote and illustratedthe manuscript while exiled in the United States after the Fall of France. He hadtravelled there on a personal mission to persuade its government to quickly enter the war against Nazi Germany. In the midst of personal upheavals andfailing health he proced almost half of the writings he would be rememberedfor, including a tender tale of loneliness, friendship, love and loss, in the form ofa young prince fallen to Earth. An earlier memoir by the author recountedhisaviation experiences in the Sahara and he is thought to have drawn on those sameexperiences for use as plot elements in The Little Prince. II. A Summary of The Little Prince

The Little Prince tells a story like that: A pilot crashes in the Sahara Desert.A thousand miles from any habitation, while attempting to fix his plane, he meetsa strangely dressed little boy who seems to have come from nowhere, and whodemands that he draw a sheep. "When a mystery is too overpowering, one dare not disobey," so the pilot attempts to draw a sheep. Graally the littleprince reveals his story. He comes from a small asteroid, where he lives alone until arose grows there. But the rose is demanding, and he is confused by his feelingsabout her. Eventually he decides to leave, and journey to other planets in search ofknowledge. After meeting many confusing alts, he eventually lands on Earth, where he befriends a snake and a fox. The fox helps him to understand the rose, and the snake offers to help him return to his planet-- but at a price. From my point of view, The Little Prince is not simply a fairy tale, but aphilosophicalnovel. The author reveals the absurdity of the civilized world through the eyes of the little prince, who has a pure heart and a true world.

III. My Views on The Little Prince

The use of the symbols makes the story full of meanings and morevivid. Firstly, the setting is in the Desert of Sahara. As for me, desert is pure landinsome way, not yet the invasion of the modern civilization. Only in such a place, can love, responsibility and the human nature be revealed fully. Secondly, the first creature the little prince encountered was the snake. In the west, thesnake represents mystery and power. In the story, the snake is “more powerful than the finger of a king”and has the prophet for everything. The snake thought the prince was “innocent and true” while “this earth made of granite”, so finally it sent thelittle prince back to his planet. What the snake said tell the darkness and evil of the human, the little prince is not suitable to live in such a place. Thirdly, the choice of the fox is also meaningful. In people’s eyes, the fox is always filled withwisdom. In the story, the fox is just like a philosopher, giving the prince adviceand inspiring him to understand the meaning of love, the responsibilities for his rose, and the difference between “alike” and “unique”. The fox told thelittle prince his secret: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; whatis essential is invisible to the eye”, but “the men have forgotten this truth”.

The words satires the ignorance of human beings who do not even know thetrue essence of love and friendship. Meanwhile, it reminds us that we shouldbe responsible for our love, to be true. In the story, it describes the people such as the king, the conceited man, the tippler, the businessman and so on. They represent allmanner of man in the earth with their own symbolic meanings.

The story is made up of philosophical sentences, from which we can gain a good deal of enlightenment. I will take some as examples. In chapter 17,the snake told the prince “It is also lonely among men”. As for me, nowadays peopleis becoming busy and ambitious, they no longer have time to care about others, even their friends just for pursuing their own goals. We can see thealienationbetween them. It reminds me of the masterpiece Moby Dick written by Herman Melville. Because of the alienation between man and man, they can notunite together, which lead to a tragedy in the end. In chapter 10, the king said:”Youshall judge yourself that is the most difficult thing of all. It is much more difficultto judge oneself than to judge others. If you succeed in judging yourself rightly, then you are indeed a man of true wisdom”. I can not agree it more. AsPlato said:”know yourself”, which is a important principle for us to live. It is of greatimportance to know who we are, what we have done and for what. Only if we can truly know ourselves, can we make the right choice, not blind for seekingfor something meaningless. As the lamplighter said, “It is impossible for a man to be faithful and lazy at the same time.” This sentence illustrates the old saying”You can’t have your cake and eat it too”, things are always like that, admittedly, human is greedy sometimes.

The Little Prince almost covers all aspects of life, including friendship, love, responsibilities, freedom and so on. It can be said as a guidance for a better life, better society. We’d better be childish in our deep heart and soul.

Reading the old man and the sea About the author Ernest Hemingway, one of the greatest American writers in 20th century, is the representative of “lost generation” writer. He was born on July 21, 1899, in Oak Park, Illinois. worked as a reporter after graating from high school in 1917.,amd served as an ambulance driver in the Italian infantry and was wounded just before his 19th birthday. Hospitalized, Hemingway fell in love with an older nurse.

In 1954, Hemingway was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. In his life, Hemingway married four times and wrote numerous essays, short stories and novels. The effects of Hemingway's lifelong depressions, illnesses and accidents caught up with him. In July 1961, he mitted suicide in Ketchum, Idaho.

About the book The old man and the sea is one of Hemingway’s most enring works. Told in language of great simplicity and power , it is the story of an old Cuban fisherman ,down on his luck ,and his supreme ordeal ---a relentless , agonizing battle with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream . Here Hemingway recasts , in strikingly contemporary style, the classic theme of courage in the face of defeat , of personal triumph won from loss . Written in 1952 ,this hugely successfully novella confirmed his power and presence in the literary world and played a huge part in his winning the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature .

About the old man Santiago is described as a failure by other fishermen in the village for catching no fish for a long time . However, he should be regarded as a hero all his life , when he had played the hand game with the great Negro from Cienfuegos who was the strongest man on the docks ;when he fight with that large marlin ; when he struggle with the sharks . You can find his optimi *** , confidence, wisdom, perseverance and bravery anywhere . I admire him not only because these but also his regarding these as the things he had to do , the rules he had to obey . Such a man is really a man , a marvelous man . All the characters of him is worth being learned not only in Hemingway’s times ,but for ever ; not only for a certain kind of man , but for all of us .Let’s always remember his word “But man is not made for defeat,” he said. “A man can be destroyed but not defeated.”

I want to introce the book is Hemingway's the old man and the sea, I think this book is very worth a look, especially in the ownership of the "tough guy" spirit is worth us to learn.

The old man and the sea is the background of the story leaves of Cuba in the 20th century. Protagonist is an old fisherman San Diego in a supporting role is a named manolin's child. The old man and the sea is written by an old fisherman fishing in the sea for three days and three nights. Old man in the face of many difficulties, life, other fishermen laugh at, only a *** all boy to send him food. The old man decided to go to fisherman who has never been to the deep sea fishing, to prove your ability and courage. At sea, the old man caught a salmon, but the fish is too big, the old man made countless efforts finally put the fish in the boat, because of that, that caused the tragedy, the fish's blood attracted many shark, the old man was determined, "fight with them, I'll talk to them all to death" finally, went back to the shore, the old man in the boat only strapped to her bones.

"People are not born for defeat, a man can be destroyed, but can't defeat". Lonely old fisherman San Diego resolute character, superb fishing technique, etc. The outline of his article is not only a tough guy, also saw a variety of different from him, let the person ponder: self-confident, brave, optimistic, simple, lonely, and wise. Old fisherman of this spirit is worth us to learn, to mining. The children from the age of five with the old fishing boat learning, the child's personality traits from another side, reflect the old man's character, showed that kind of not afraid of hard, have the courage to overe difficulties of character; Child is *** all, only a few years old, but it doesn't show very childish; Learned from the old man is not only the skill of fishing, and self-esteem self-improvement of the spirit, and learn to understand the hardships of life with the man's responsibility. Tender shoulder has already accustomed to the morning go out fishing life of hone, even "walk still dozing", still said "this consider as what, a man have to like this." Fist-pumping, be born words fully demonstrates the sound always tough spirit. This spirit is worth us to learn, also let I was moved very much.

To what struck me most is the spirit, the old fisherman manolin kid the sort of understand, in life, in learning, or in the later work, when we encounter unprecedented hardships and setbacks, we should consider the alone on the sea and unable to fight the "tough guy" old fisherman, the children of that kind of sensible and self-esteem self-improvement, like him after the life of hone. In this way, we will find that in fact there are a lot of difficulties and not imagined so invincible. If we are to study the spirit, and has the "tough guy" spirit, inspire our biggest potential, can overe we think it is impossible to overe the difficulties.

Dear teachers and students

hello everyone! The topic of my speech today is: Love reading.

If someone asks me what you like best, I will say: "I like spring water, which gives me a pure and elegant mood; I like the sea, which gives me selfless and broad love; I like mountains,

It gave me a strong and fearless will; But my favorite thing is reading, because books are the messenger of human culture, the source of our knowledge growth, and the essential nutrition for our growth.

If there were no books, the world would not be so wonderful, and our minds would not be so open. If there were no books, our minds would be like dry trees, without any vitality.

Fairy tales are my close friends. I envy Snow White for her beauty and kindness, and admire the little match girl and ugly ckling for their indomitable spirit.

I love reading. Books are the treasure house of knowledge and the ladder of human progress. They broaden our horizons and enrich my life. They help me improve and make progress. Books are the source of happiness. They bring me happiness.

Students, please love reading! My speech is over, thank you!

Dear teachers and students

hello everyone!

Books are the ladder of human progress and the source of knowledge. We have been inseparable from books since childhood. From letters to Chinese, and then to articles, it is the book that has created the superior conditions for us to learn knowledge. It enables us to learn to communicate in language and understand the feelings between people. Books are like our loyal and good partners. As we grow up, they constantly infuse us with new knowledge and let us understand the ever-changing changes of the world. Books are a beautiful angel. They teach us a lot, but never need to repay. They just add one beautiful rainbow after another to the whole world in obscurity.

Reading makes people broad-minded and far-sighted. Reading can activate our thinking and cultivate our temperament. Reading gives wings to our minds. Reading, we can find another happy paradise. Book, a good teacher and friend, has given me a fertile land of fate. In the book, I found a passage that explains life. The real gold is not afraid of fire, the real life is indifferent to fate. The real meaning of life lies not only in bravely accepting the choice of fate, but also in making a bold choice of fate and declaring war on it. This is the demeanor of a brave man. Books reflect the value of our lives. What we learn from books is not only to deal with exams, but also to enjoy our hearts. Books let us learn to enjoy life.

In this golden autumn October, the air is filled with the smell of books. Autumn is a golden cradle. I come to Xiongzhong with confidence and dreams. There are complete teaching facilities, beautiful learning environment, a team of teachers who are good at persuasion, and a group of students who are diligent and progressive. The whole school flows with a thick smell of books. After a hundred years of vicissitudes in this institute. I roamed freely and enjoyed the pleasure of reading in the sea of books.

Life cannot be without books, without books. Our sky seems to have lost its color and become dark. Life is ll, and our hearts will be exhausted. With books, the white paper of life will become colorful. Where there are books, there are happiness and treasure. Now, this wealth is in front of us. Boys and girls, please light up the light of reading in your heart and make our life full of color and happiness. Let the smell of books flow in the campus and ripple in our hearts, then this wealth will always belong to you!

Thank you.

Dear teachers and students

hello everyone! The topic of my speech today is "I Love Reading".

When we go to school, the book always accompanies me. It is there in class and it is still there after class. Whenever the bell rang after class, I would borrow books from the librarian to read. My favorite book is Andersen's Fairy Tales, which contains many fairy tales, of which the Ugly Duckling impressed me most. When the ugly ckling was born, everyone thought it was very ugly, so it got the name of "ugly ckling". No matter where it went, it was laughed at by others. But the ugly ckling did not give up. It dreamed of becoming a beautiful swan. It was not afraid of ridicule from others, and still kept an optimistic attitude. Finally, after experiencing numerous hardships, it finally became a beautiful white swan, because it had a dream, which supported it.

Yes, the book tells me that as long as a person has a dream, coupled with his unremitting efforts, it can be a dream come true.

Books, like these stories, are always around me. They are my good teachers in class and my good partners after class. They even sing hypnosis songs to me when I sleep.

Falling in love with reading is like birds falling in love with the blue sky, and fish yearning for the sea. As long as we feel it carefully, we can find the joy in the book and feel the happiness it brings us!

I have finished my speech. Thank you.

Dear students

hello everyone! The topic of my speech today is "The Joy of Reading".

Many people think reading is not fun. Books in black and white are far less interesting than TV and computers. Although these people also study, they study for further study, examination and work assignment. This is not real reading. This kind of reading is too utilitarian.

"The reason for reading is to get rid of mediocrity one day earlier and lead a wonderful life; one day later, it will be a mediocre day." Yu Yuqiu said well that only through reading can you gain a lot of knowledge and make you different. Only by reading can you grow. I say this because no one can teach your mind a lesson, but a book can. It can make you laugh, make you cry, make you angry, it can affect your heart, it is related to your mood, your life, and your study.

Although there are many fictional characters in the book, they have the same characteristics as many people around us, so we feel very friendly. Not only that, the characters in the book can also make you learn a lot. For example, the Emir in "The Emir Catches the Robber" can help us learn to be brave; The "naughty little horse jump" series can help us learn how to take care of small animals and so on. Although the characters in the book do not exist, they seem to stand beside you and affect you. They are also your good teachers and friends and are worth learning.

No matter what kind of books, we can learn a lot of knowledge: astronomy, geography, common sense of life, art, culture. It is impossible to master only one kind of knowledge in one's life. So we should read all kinds of books and learn all kinds of knowledge, so as to enrich our knowledge, expand our thinking space, and solve difficulties quickly. Even sometimes, we can apply some of the methods in the book to our life. Is the book wonderful?

Reading is not so much fun. I just give a few examples. Others need you to explore. My speech is over, thank you!

How do you do!

We are budding flowers. In the journey of life, we should save energy so that beautiful flowers will bloom on that day.

Not every flower in the world can bloom so brilliantly. Because of this, we should cherish the opportunity to bloom. Wind energy determines the direction of dandelion, while reading can determine our direction. The difference between us and dandelion is that we are completely dependent on the wind, and we are ourselves.

At our age, we are in the prime of life. We should take advantage of this youth, take advantage of this vitality, work hard for our dreams, and lay a good foundation for the future. Learning hard is our primary task now. Don't give up our original path because of the bored rebellion in adolescence. Reading and learning is not the way out, but it is the shortcut. The future depends on hard work, and the current society is short of talents. Without knowledge as the basis, how to fight?

Reading is a very enjoyable thing. It can not only enrich our knowledge, but also improve our quality. We are a new century and a new generation. We should have knowledge, morality and culture. We should not let the motherland be ashamed of us. We should study hard and study hard.

In fact, students are also a kind of profession, and they are the most relaxed of all professions. We don't have to work hard, we just get paid every day. We just come to school to register and study, and we have holidays, which are so abundant. If we can't control even the most relaxed career, how can we talk about the future?

Students, don't idle away your time every day. We are not dandelions. We do not need to wait for the direction given by Oka. We rely on our efforts. Let's take action. Let's sail hard in the sea of books. I believe that one day, we will all return triumphantly.

This is the end of my speech. Thank you!

Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice is a lighthearted tale of love and marriage in eighteenth-century England. It centers on the elder sisters of the Bennet family, Jane and Elizabeth. Their personalities, misunderstandings and the roles of pride and prejudice play a lavishing story. This story is told from third point of view. From my perspective Jane Austen wanted to convey love wins over prejudice and to not just take in the saying of first impression but to look in the person's character deeper. Jane Austin was born in 1775 in Stevenson, Hampshire. Her family wasn't rich but managed to give her a decent ecation. She was the seventh of eight children of her father, a clergyman. Like other young women of her social class, Jane and her sister Cassandra were ecated mostly at home in subjects of music, drawing, painting, needlework, and social behavior. Her father's encouragement and her own enjoyment in reading led Jane to became very well read. At fourteen she began to write little plays for home theatricals. She also wrote nonsense story's to entertain her family. Jane would spend the majority of the evening in the corner of the room with her manuscript and blotter observing the world surrounding her. She would write when the room was quiet and if she were interrupted, she would cover her manuscript with a blotter and continued when the room was silent again. Before Jane Austen died of cancer in 1817 at Winchester, she had already published six successful novels: Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park, Emma, and Persuasion, respectively. Jane Austen is now buried in the ancient cathedral in Winchester of her native Hampshire. Pride and Prejudice lets you travel through lives back then but also she portrays the lives of modern days. You can read it and you might be able to recall some parts of the book as your life, but in a different time period

I have been reading a book for many days. The books name is CAT AND MOUSE IN A HAUNTED HOUSE. It is telling about Geronimo Stilton who is a newspaper mouse who runs newspaper in New Mouse City—the capital of Mouse island.

On one night of October, he decided to visit his aunt, Sweetfur. But he got lost when he was driving through the Dark Forest because of the foggy. Then his car was out of gas. He thought “I wish I was at home”.

Suddenly there was a lightning in the sky and he saw a big castle. When he walked closer to the front door, he saw two stone cats and a sign that says: To Canny Cat’s castle. The door bell was in one stone cat’s mouth. When Geronimo was deciding to go into the castle, it starts to rain, so he went into the castle……

At last Geronimo’s sister, little nephew Benjamin and his cousin Trap all came and helped him find out all of two little cat. They don’t want others to come into the castle because the castle is their ancestor Canny Cat’s. So they make many tricks.

After reading this story, I think it’s very interesting, and I had a lot of fun. My favorite character is Geronimo’s nephew Benjamin. Because he is very cute and clever, he always observes every detail. He found out the foot prink on the floor and the nail on the wall. In the story it shows Geronimo is a very timid mouse that always scared himself.

I like this story very much, so I’ll still read more this set of book.

Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person.

Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’

That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. Therefore, I, a kind person, want to tell those ‘vermin-to-be’ to learn from the kind Oliver and regain the nature of goodness.
