The next day， the third little pig helps his brothers。 He helps them build houses。 They all build houses of brick。 It takes a long time， but no one can ever blow their houses down。

扉页介绍了本书的作者，插图画师，还有出版社。前面我们已经大概了解了作者，现在我们主要看扉页的图画。在一片绿意盎然的草地上，绿树环绕的一座红色小房子赫然矗立在眼前，房子前面一条石头铺成的小路一直延伸到远方，房子周围花团锦簇。这是一座二层小楼房，有七个小窗户，其中一层靠右的一个窗户拉开一半，窗台上放着一排排花盆，花盆里粉色的鲜花开的正艳。一层房子左半侧乳白色的护栏围起来，门半掩着，门上面挂着一个花环，门里面有一双穿着蓝色鞋子条纹短袜的腿。门旁边的墙壁上挂着一盆吊篮，护栏上摆着五盆鲜花。一只胖胖的小猫咪正在专心致志地玩耍，还有一把深绿色的摇椅放置在一边。房子两侧边上各有一个乳白色排水管。咦，我们一遍又一遍看这幅图，还是没有找到这本书的主人公spider。这是怎么回事呢？先不找了，我们先看看下一页。

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the waterspout.
小蜘蛛爬上了排水管。
小蜘蛛想尽各种办法终于爬上了排水管，马上就要进入黑黑的隧道了，心里无比忐忑，它稍稍地歇了歇，旁边怡然自得采花粉的小蝴蝶对小蜘蛛说“小不点，你这是要去哪里啊？那个排水管又黑又潮湿，你要钻进去吗？”小蜘蛛坚定地说“是的，我已经长大了，我要开启一段奇妙的旅程”，说完，小蜘蛛鼓起勇气继续奋力往上爬。
Down came the rain And washed thespiderout.
大雨从天而降，小蜘蛛被雨水冲出水管。
天公不作美，突如其来一场大雨哗哗地下个不停，豆大的雨点将草地都浸透了，小花朵被雨滴打的东倒西歪，房顶集满了雨水，雨水顺着排水管“哗啦啦、哗啦啦”流出来，在排水管道里已爬到一半的小蜘蛛被突如其来的大水卷裹着，一泻而下，小蜘蛛惊慌失措，张开肢体想抓住点什么，在一旁忙着避雨的小青蛙，小乌龟，小壁虎都停下了脚步，为小蜘蛛捏了一把汗，他们惊叫着“小蜘蛛，快快快，赶紧躲起来”可是，还没等他们说完话，小蜘蛛已经被雨水冲的不知去向了。

雨停了，太阳公公露出了笑脸，大地在阳光的沐浴下变得暖暖的，阳光里小草更翠绿了，鲜花更鲜艳了，小动物们又都欢快地玩耍喽，哇，快看，被雨水冲刷的不知所踪的小蜘蛛又爬上了排水管。它继续它的旅程。

一只猫咪跳上摇椅，小蜘蛛被弹到空中。
小蜘蛛一个趔趄重重地摔在地板上了，腰似乎都摔断了，小蜘蛛疼的直打哆嗦，它好想妈妈这个时候就在身边，它就这么躺着任凭眼泪哗哗地流下来，不知道过了多久，它听到了“呼呼呼呼”的声音。
Down plopped the cat and when he was asleep,the itsy bitsy spider back up the chair did creep.
猫咪倒在椅子上躺下来，不一会呼呼睡着了，小蜘蛛重新爬上了摇椅。
小蜘蛛有点想妈妈了，它迫不及待地顺着房子护栏爬到了树上。
