Fishing is my favourite sport. I often fish for hours without catching anything. But this does not worry me. Some fishermen are unlucky. Instead of catching fish, they catch old boots and rubbish. I am even less lucky. I never catch anything -- not even old boots. After having spent whole mornings on the river, I always go home with an empty bag. 'You must give up fishing!' my friends say. 'It's a waste of time.' But they don't realize one important thing. I'm not really interested in fishing. I am only interested in sitting in a boat and doing nothing at all!

光先生的家中，其女儿吴霜首次向记者透露她正在创作电视剧
《新凤霞传奇》。

吴霜说：“自从1998年4月妈妈在常州突然病逝后，曾有
多家影视单位要求我尽快将妈妈的传奇故事搬上舞台银屏，但
当时却被我婉言谢绝了。期间也曾有人写过我妈妈，但都不成
功。真正熟悉我妈妈的只有我，所以也只有我才能写好我妈妈，
但我必须让自己平静下来才能动笔。”吴霜称，她是今年6月才
动笔的，到目前为止已完成了2集，估计到今年年底才可全部完
成，计划写20集，剧名就叫《新凤霞传奇》。

吴霜说，我妈妈的一生就是一个奇迹。她能从旧社会贫民窟
中的一个小丫头成为新中国的著名艺术家，本身就是奇迹！尤其
是“文革”期间被迫害病残后，只字不识的她在爸爸的帮助下自
学写作，居然写出了20多本书，而且质量是第一流的，有的文章
被选入中、小学课本。妈妈的一生中充满了传奇，直到她去世，
妈妈也不知道她的生身父母是谁。我写《新凤霞传奇》不会写成
流水账式，更不会资料化，而是尊重历史，要故事化，因而有商
业性。吴霜直言不讳地说，我认为好的艺术品首先应该有艺术性，
同时亦具备商业性，否则就难以让广大观众接受。我对这部长篇
电视剧充满了信心。

出身于戏剧世家的吴霜早年毕业于中央音乐学院，是位花腔
女高音歌唱家，后留美6年学习西乐，几年前回国后连续创作了喜
剧光明三部曲：其中的《别为你的相貌发愁》、《女人漂亮》上演
后反响强烈，好评如潮，第三部喜剧《父女惊魂》已准备就绪，即
将在京上演，她胸有成竹地对记者说，自己对这部描写妈妈的电视
剧充满了信心。今年已83岁高龄的著名剧作家吴祖光先生亦对女儿
目前正潜心创作的这部《新凤霞传奇》特别看好。在其家中，慈眉
善目的吴老笑呵呵地对记者说：“要写好新凤霞，非我的女儿吴霜
