课堂乏味 难吸引学生
《近代史纲要》、《军事理论》……公共课的上座率比专业课低多了。“纯理论知识很枯燥无味，又不实用，我一上课就犯困。"一名学生小丁坦言，公共课大多是大班教学，老师极少点名，被抓现行的几率很小。
除了课程本身乏味，老师课堂魅力的缺乏也成了大学生们逃课的理由。大三学生小鲁说，自己逃过《近代史纲要》课，因为老师上课使用的方言，对学生缺乏吸引力。相反，《思想道德与法律基础》这门公共课极受学生欢迎，因为该老师善将理论和实际结合，且注重和学生互动。
逃课为社会实践
如今就业压力大，为积累实践经验，兼职、实习成为了许多大学生的“必修课”，如果与上课发生冲突，大多数学生会选择逃课，因为在他们看来，课本上的知识可以补回来，但实习机会不是经常有的。
“逃课热”引发教师反思
自己辛辛苦苦备课，学生却不买账，尴尬之余，高校教师对“逃课热”这一现象也进行了反思。
江汉大学彭松乔老师教《民间文学》，这是一门选修课，比起专业课和必修课来，彭老师对到课率的要求宽松得多，是否听课全凭学生自愿。“事实上，没有一个老师喜欢总是逃课的学生，但应该理解、尊重学生，”彭老师说。
教《古典文献学》的盛莉老师表示，自己对学生逃课表示理解，但不赞同。虽说没有不逃课的大学生，但学生还是应该珍惜难得的学习机会，毕竟机不可失，失不再来。
学生工作者：宜堵更宜疏
为防止大学生逃课，高校常用的方法是点名，统计学生到课情况并与其综合测评、评优评先等奖惩挂钩。中南民族大学文学与新闻传播学院甚至规定：一学期内无故缺课累计超过该门课程教学时数1/3者，不得参加该课程的考试，成绩以零分计。
一位在校大学生告诉记者，为了应付学校点名，有学生代为签到、很多同学第一节课上完就开溜。
从事学生工作多年的沈群香老师认为，学生逃课，原因是多方面的。既有现行的教学管理模式与体制存在一定的不足、学分与学时制混乱的问题，也与老师的教学方式陈旧古板、教学内容枯燥有关系。另外，学生的厌学情绪、惰性和跟风心理也是重要原因。
沈群香称，改善逃课现象是一个长期的慢慢疏导的过程，学校应该就多种原因，综合应对逃课现象，不能一味强制学生，否则会引起学生反感。管理、教育应该建立在尊重学生的基础上。
