总述—— 矛盾有主次之分，两者同属矛盾特殊性的两种情形，都是由于事物发展的不平衡性引起的，都存在于事物的发展过程中。我们在认识上和实际运用中容易将两者混淆。
区别：
1．含义不同。
主要矛盾是指在复杂事物中包含多个矛盾，其地位和作用是不平衡的，其中必有一个矛盾居于支配地位，对事物的发展起着决定作用，这个矛盾就是主要矛盾。反之，不处于支配地位，对事物的发展不起决定作用的矛盾就是次要矛盾。
