繁殖条件

牡丹鹦鹉
牡丹鹦鹉一年中除炎热的夏季外，其他季节都可以繁殖。一般雌鸟每窝产蛋6－8枚

牡丹鹦鹉美图欣赏(40张)，孵化期约19天。孵化过程中，雄鸟坚守在巢外看护并饲喂雌鸟，而雌鸟除取食、饮水和排粪时外出外，始终坚持孵化。雏鸟出壳后由亲鸟饲喂，35－40天方能离巢，50天左右才独立生活，6个半月达到性成熟。
牡丹鹦鹉适宜结群饲养，其笼舍面积可依饲养展览需要适当安排，并需有适宜的露天场地供其运动。春、夏、秋三季，宜有适度的光照。北方冬季应保持在15～22℃。其笼舍可围以细铅丝网，或用厚玻璃加以围隔。家庭中饲养少量（1～5对），可用木箱改装，一面是装适宜的金属网，精心饲养，即能获得较好的玩赏及繁殖效果。饲养笼舍需垫清洁的细沙，供其采食也有利清洁。笼内设足够粗度适宜的栖架，有利运动和休息。

人工饲养环境中的牡丹鹦鹉，可饲以多种饲料，如饼干、面包、馒头、米饭、青菜、多种水果等。公园或动物园内大量饲养，可用虎皮鹦鹉混合粒料为主要饲料，同时饲予足量的青菜及水果，即可顺利达到繁殖。育雏期间加饲熟玉米粉70%，熟鸡蛋28%，骨粉2%的混合湿粉料。有利雏鸟正常成长。多种野生青草及蒲公英等，均为牡丹鹦鹉的理想青绿饲料。
牡丹鹦鹉的饲料配制有一定的诀窍，不能因为它喜欢吃什么就喂什么，而应该多种饲料合理搭配。
蛋米：1公斤小米加4个鸡蛋黄搅拌而成，用量一般占总喂量的40%。
稻米：以带有稻壳的稻米为佳，稻米的种皮牡丹鹦鹉很喜欢吃，可补充淀粉、蛋白质、微量元素和多种维生素，并可增加喙的咀嚼能力。用量一般占总喂量的30%。
谷子：一般占总喂量的10%一15%。
剩余部分可喂麻子、稗草子、瓜子等。根据实践经验，以每天喂10—20粒生瓜子为佳。
在饲喂中，有人加“金维他”，也有人加“速补14”，还有人加多维素及各类添加剂，但根据实践，无论加什么，都要注意量的控制，如果量不适度，不但不起好作用，反而会造成一定的危害。
饲养经验
(1)如何减少“白蛋”?
“白蛋”就是没有受精的蛋，“白蛋”的增加将会严重影响牡丹鹦鹉的繁殖率。产生“白蛋”的原因主要有：一是配对亲鸟都是雌鸟：二是配对的雌鸟虽能生蛋，但雄鸟没有性成熟；三是雄鸟是残鸟，脚趾有残缺，使得交配不成功；四是外界环境的不适，如噪音、惊吓、空气不流通、闷热等。一旦有以上情况发生，应采取相应的措施。
为了提高牡丹鹦鹉的产蛋率，并减少“白蛋”，养鸟者可试喂北京野生动物保护中心的专门饲料及添加剂，同时注意平时的饲喂管理。春天鸟易“上火”，所以降火是关键。降火方法是：平时要喂洁净的油菜、生菜或小白菜，切不可喂扁豆和茄子。为增强体质和防拉稀，可以喂些马齿苋，效果非常好。另外平时要注意观察，一有病症应及时治疗。
(2)如何增加牡丹鹦鹉的破壳能力?
要孵化出牡丹鹦鹉，破壳也是一个关键。好多蛋在孵化时间够了的情况下，还是破不了壳，小鸟被憋死在蛋壳内。此种现象主要是缺钙引起的，钙在鸟破壳中起着重要作用，没有足够的钙，鸟喙软，骨架软，啄壳能力不强。有的养鸟者采用给亲鸟喂蛋壳方法，取得了良好的效果。将蛋壳用清水洗净，放入锅内点沸15分钟，其目的主要是为了消毒。将消毒过的蛋壳晾十，用手搓碎即可饲喂亲鸟了。
(3)鸟舍如何安排?
牡丹鹦鹉既可以观赏，也可以繁育出售。牡丹鹦鹉的鸟舍安排是一个十分重要的问题。鸟舍要选择在环境幽静、无干扰的地方，不要有杂音，不要有环境污染，注意空气流通，空气新鲜。鸟舍的位置以北房为宜。
一间20平方米的北房可饲养牡丹鹦鹉60笼，每笼1对，即60对。如果房子有余可以安排两间，分配的方式是一间笼养，—‘间散养。笼养主要用来繁殖，散养主要用于小鸟养成大鸟，小鸟活动空间越大，身体就会越健壮。
在农村建扛吨舍时要注意防蛇、防猫、防蚊虫。

牡丹鹦鹉
在城市，在楼房阳台和楼房内进行饲喂时要注意通风和采光，注意房间不要太暗，不要在没有光或弱光下生长、繁育，否则对鸟的产蛋和孵化不利。如果光线弱可用60瓦的灯2～3盏补光。
有人提出晚间需开灯到10点，甚至到11点。其实这大可不必，这样做不但没有好处，反而对鸟有坏处。因为在夜间光照太强的情况下，鸟儿休息不好，产蛋和孵化都不安稳，这样破壳率大、产蛋率低，有时甚至产蛋而不孵。
为了提高孵化率，鸟舍要安排适宜，不要过密。
鸟舍内部放笼时要注意高度，底邮要垫上砖或其他垫物，这样通风好，并可防止鼠咬。
