这是摘要写作中最易犯的一个错误。有的作者往往把Essay的大小标题抄下来放在一起,或每段摘一句中心语,以为这就是摘要。这实在是最省事但效果最差的做法了。前面我们已经谈过摘要的特点,摘要不同于原Essay,它是以新的形式表达Essay中突出的研究结果和结论。误区一的错误显而易见,它信息价值低,可读性差,读者只须参阅下文中的标题即可,摘要成为可有可无之物,它简单重复Essay中的已有信息,而丢失了Essay研究的对象、目的、方法、结论和结果等重要的内容。

2.大量介绍背景和已知的常识内容

摘要应着重反映文稿的新内容、新观点,最忌将原文涉及的内容(哪怕是最重要的)统统写进摘要。学术Essay不同于教科书和科普读物,主要刊登有创见性的科学研究成果,读者也大都是同行专家,所以摘要中无需介绍众所周知的专业常识。摘要更不同于编者按,无需背景说明。

3.过于简约

前面我们在论述摘要的类型时,曾谈到学术Essay适宜于采用报道性摘要和指示——报道性摘要。单纯的指示性摘要在内容上过老塌分简约,不涉及研究方法和结果,是我们在撰写学术Essay时应回避的一种方法。但有的作者在一些摘要的写作中却倾向于这种指示性摘要。它的缺点是:内容单一、信息量不足、摘要的结构要素残缺、学数偏少,不能发挥摘要应有的作用。

例2:文章论述了通货膨胀的主要模式和对财务会计的冲击,并提出了应会付货膨胀的对策。

这是一则典型的指示性摘要,不足40字,从内容结构上来分析,它只指出了Essay研究的对象——通货膨胀的主要模式及对财务会计的冲击,研究的结果——提出应付通货膨胀的对策,但具体对策并未言及,而研究的目的、方法、结论、本文的新见解和独特发现等均未出现键消的摘要中,使摘要无法发挥引导读者阅读选择的作用。

4.摘要成为标题内容的重复

有些摘要与Essay题目或文中的大小标题雷同,或是在摘要侍亮圆的开头重复Essay题目,这样也会降低摘要的信息价值,在语言上不够简洁,信息的表达上简单重复。

如前面的例2是Essay《通货膨胀的主要模式及对策》的摘要,我们可以明显看出摘要与题目的重复之处。

例4:产品质量是企业兴衰的关键,文章阐述了实施名牌战略的重要性及其设想。

5.与Essay的开头或结尾重复

Essay的开头和结尾是非常重要的内容,但对开头和结尾的摘录不等同于摘要,摘要是对原文准确而完整的浓缩,是Essay的精华所在。当然,我们不排除部分精华会出现在Essay的开头和结尾。但应该指出的是开头加结尾式的摘要往往抓不住要害,容易喧宾夺主,可读性差,也不能简明、确切地表达出Essay摘要应侧重表达的要素。

6.使用谦词等无意义的词

常常见到作者在摘要中称自己的研究为:粗浅的看法、一孔之见、略知一二、一点尝试等等。我们且不谈谦虚是美德还是缺乏自信。这样的词语出现在摘要中,它没有丝毫的信息价值,也影响了语言的简洁。还有些摘要的开头常出现“本文”、“本研究课题”、“笔者”等,这些都是无意义的东西,因为读者通过阅读已经知道是哪篇Essay、哪位作者,它们出现在摘要中同样没有信息价值。
