Halloween
Halloween is an autumn holiday that Americans celebrate every year. It means "holy evening," and it comes every October 31, the evening before All Saints' Day. However, it is not really a church holiday, it is a holiday for children mainly.
Every autumn, when the vegetables are ready to eat, children pick large orange pumpkins. Then they cut faces in the pumpkins and put a burning candle inside. It looks as if there were a person looking out of the pumpkin! These lights are called jack-o'-lanterns, which means "Jack of the lantern".
The children also put on strange masks and frightening costumes every Halloween. Some children paint their faces to look like monsters. Then they carry boxes or bags from house to house. Every time they come to a new house, they say,"Trick or treat! Money or eat!" The grown-ups put treat-money or candy in their bags.
Not only children, but most grown-ups also love Halloween and Halloween parties because on this day,they can disguise themselves as personages or ghost as their imaginations will lead them. This bring them the satisfaction of being young.

哈哈，盼星星，盼月亮，终于盼来了我们学校的英语节。我为什么这么高兴呢？那是因为英语节与其他节日不一样。我敢毫不夸张地说：英语节在章贡区所有的小学里，只有我们厚德外国语学校才有这个节日，它独一无二，别具一格，是章贡区的一道亮丽的风景线。

就拿这次英语节来说吧！老师早早地把这个消息告诉了我们，老师说这次英语节有两个方面的内容：一个是表演节目，一个是跳蚤市场，两个内容都必须用英语来表达。根据老师的要求，同学们三人一群，五人一伙地开始筹备起各自的节目来了。

我和张俊伟、李诗松、林彦朴、刘长风、温鹏飞一共六人，我们一起编排了一个《彼得与狼》的节目，我在剧中扮演小猫，李诗松扮演小鸟，林彦朴扮演鸭子，刘长风扮演狼，温鹏飞扮演爷爷，张浚伟扮演彼得和猎人。这个节日，剧本是我们自己找的，自己翻译的，也是自己导演的。我们用了无数个午休时间，反反复复，一次又一次的精益求精地排练，最后，功夫不负有心人，终于，我们这个节目在英语节中获得了一等奖，当我们得知自己的节目获奖时，大家都欢呼雀跃，兴奋不已，充分感受到英语节独有的韵味，陶醉在节日的喜悦中。

这一周，我们学校举行了一学期一度的英语节。每天都要通过3关或者2关才能进学校，早上有2关（有的时候1关），下午进学校又要过一关。

第一天的早上，我来到学校。刚到门口，突然门口的一个人把我拦住了。并说：“想进去吗，先过我这一关。

快乐之英语节

早上，上完三节课后，我们全班同学背着椅子，搬着桌子，朝我们的目的地，也是我们的贩卖点走去，我们的买卖集合区位于操场上的一棵大榕树附近，来到那，便开始“安营扎寨”，打扮景物，没一会，原本空荡荡的跑道已摆满了桌椅，空虚的大榕树已是花枝招展，这所做的一切都是为了下午的活动。

下午，我飞速来到了学校，一看钟，才二点，心想：我肯定来得最早。来到操场，出乎我的预料，操场上已是人山人海，见此情景，我只得赶到“大部队”的“根据地”，在本次活动中，我任“policeman”之职，所谓是新官上任三把火呀，我活像一只泥鳅在“顾客”群中转来转去，一会儿维持秩序，一会儿帮人“推销产品”，其它职位的人员也毫不逊色，一会说句“MayIhelpyou？”，一会儿说句“WhatcanIdoforyou？”，没一会儿，冷清的生意便做得红红火火的。快到交接上下班时，一位语文老师来到我班一个摊位，说想找一个翻译帮她买东西，可现在所有的翻译早都忙得脱不出身来招待，眼看到嘴的“肥肉”就要走了，我只好自告奋勇来当翻译，这位老师也答应了，就这样她一句中文，我一句英文的，虽然翻译得有点吃力，但这么好一个机会展示自己，何不试试，善有善报，那个老师买完东西后送给我一包鱿鱼丝。

“啊！终于可以出去逛逛了。”刚换完上下班的我兴奋的说道。刚才一本正经的我现像变成了一个“无业游民”一样，东逛逛西逛逛。

“终于找到好东西了！”我高兴地说，这是什么好东西？当然是对面摊位上的糖果了！我走了过去，摊位上的服务员立刻问道：“MayIhelpyou？”，我听后指了指桌面上的糖果说：“Yes，howmucharethesweets？”，服务员回答道：“fiftyfen！”我听后心中大喜，才五角，买！可正想给钱时，班主任李老师却大声说道：“回班了！”，我只好收起钱回到我班摊位搬椅子和桌子回班。
