A big city equipped with modern infrastructure makes people’s life convenient and efficient.High-developed underground lines,first-class international airports and all-covered post and telecommunication net make it possible to deliver persons and goods at the highest speed and cost least time.Besides,hospitals and schools in a big city are much better than those in the country.People live in a big city enjoy good medical and ecational conditions.In a word,a big city involves most advanced achievements we have gained and these achievements are the most powerful tools to improve people’s life.

Furthermore,it is universally acknowledged that people are more likely to succeed in a big city,or it can be stated as there are more opportunities in metropolitan areas for people to achieve something.

One may argue that city life brings too much polluted air and occupies too much free time.There’s no doubt that living in a big city has its merits as well as disadvantages.But when the advantages and disadvantages are weighed,the conclusion is quite striking:it’s good to live in a big city.

第一个：During my summer holiday in 2003, I found a part-time job as a cleaner in KFC. I did not realize that it was not an easy job before I didit. I had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. The job was tiring and boring because I had to get up early and went to bed late. Every day I had to repeat the same work, which nearly made me mad. I almost gave it up, but finally I sticked it out until thenew semester began. The experience taught me a lesson that there is no free lunch. I have to work hard to get what I want. So the experience is very meaningful and I know the value of labour.

In fact, smoking is a bad habit. It can cause a lot of diseases. Meanwhile smoking is a waste of money. Besides, careless smokers may cause dangerous fires.

第三个：some people take it for granted that some lucky numbers can bring them good luck. for instance, the so-called lucky number “8” is widely used now because it is sounded like “getting rich” in chinese and is believed to bring good fortune.
yet many others don't think so. they think that numbers have nothing to do with luck. they regard numbers simply as a mathematic symbols for counting. they are anything but a mystery. they laugh at those who think numbers can bring good luck.
i'm in favor of the latter opinion. i think our society is very modern now. we mustn't count on the so-called lucky numbers to fulfill our wishes. whether we can have good luck depends on ourselves. if we work hard, good luck will come to us.

The Advantages of Working for a Small Company

Many people prefer to work for large companies because these firms are often well-established and seem to be more secure. They also usually offer training programs for new graates and lots of support for new employees. Furthermore, there may be a well-defined chain of command that offers the promise of steady advancement. Despite these advantages, I would prefer to work for a small company for the following reasons.

First, small companies are more flexible. While it can be argued that larger firms have well-established markets and are, therefore, more stable employers better able to deal with the ups and downs of the marketplace, in today’ competitive society a smaller firm is often better able to weather changes in the marketplace. With its smaller size and often smaller investment, it is easier for such firms to change track when the market demands it. Second, although a smaller firm may not offer the same level of training and support that a larger firm does, new employees are usually given more responsibility and opportunities to grow. Furthermore, the smaller staff size means they will get more personal attention from senior managers and have more opportunities to demonstrate their skills and advance.

There is no denying that joining a small firm does entail some risk. The company may fail, leaving its employees suddenly jobless. But even if the worst should happen, the employees would have already gained valuable experience that makes them attractive to other employers. In conclusion, as a new graate I believe that this is a proper time in my life to take risks and seek out learning experiences, so working for a small firm would be appropriate for me.

To Leave or Stay—— Choice after Graation

What do you want to do after graation from university, looking for job or further study? Everyone has its opinion and I think their decision for some reasons below:

Some students would rather step into society for work than stay for further study. Some of them are tiring of study, in addition to gaining more experience, they have oblige to earning money to support their family, they are independent. Some of them for the reason that their family fail to afford to the tuition for further study, and perhaps they have to earn money for the sake of pay back the money borrowed from the bank.

Some want to stay for further study instead of looking for jobs. First, they are capable to pay the tuition, they do have energy and time to learn more knowledge; Second, they plan to get higher degree for better competition and better jobs, as it is known to all that nowadays higher degree means more opportunity to get a better job. Third, fierce competition cause employee section are prone to the job seekers with higher degree, so it is!

To sum up, that so many college students continue to go for further study after graation is not a simple phenomenon, it proves that the oriented function of society has a profound effect to our students, so we should have the ability of judgement.

I think that denpends on your own view. It's hard to say that whether those people who have got further study can earn a better job than the students just after graation from university or not ,if someone just holds the view that nowadays higher degree means more opportunity to get a better job, maybe that will make him disappoint,because everything changes rapidly day by day .but no matter when it is always right for us to hold every opportunity to improve our knowledge and experience as possible as we can .The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for circumstances they want,and if they cannot find them, make them!
