1、 心理素质影响学习效果
首先，要对外语保持长时间稳定而积极的态度。这可以归结为“恒心”两个字。有了它，才能像蚕吃桑叶一样，一口又一口，坚持不懈地去啃，直到预定目标顺利攻克。
其次，还需要一定的自律能力。该复习时不复习，遗忘规律就会无情地吞噬着你的一部分记忆成果；该补漏时不补漏，漏洞就会不断积累扩大。所以需要有自律能力，约束自己按科学原则去运转。
2、 看写读听背——多管齐下效率高难度
一般来说，大家学英语都有各自的一套办法：有的只爱大声读个不停，有的只爱闷头看个不休，有的不写就记不住，有的不听心里就没有底。这些方法，虽然都有一定的作用，但记忆科学通过大量的实验，无可辩驳地证明：眼手口舌脑的综合运用，才能更快更深地在大脑皮层上留下不易磨灭的印象。
学外语尤其需要多种感官的综合运用。否则，搞不好学成“残疾外语”，或一听就发慌两耳一抹黑的“聋子外语”。
3、 “活”单词与“死”单词
经常听说某某发下宏愿：要一口气背下一本几千甚至几万词的字典，认为这样可以一劳永逸地解决单词量的问题。不幸的是，这样做的人，大部分都失败了。背了若干遍的单词，仍很难在脑子里生根，不是很快忘掉，就是搅成一团乱麻。
因为他们背的都是脱离了句子和课文的“死”单词，大脑对这类东西格外难以留下印象。著名的心理学家艾宾浩斯曾拿自己做过对比实验，结果：记住18个有意义的音节，只需要9遍，而记住18个无意义的音节，却用了80遍。不仅如此，孤立地背“死”词，还难以掌握它在句子中的灵活用法。因此，即使记住了一部分“死”词，它们也多属“残障人士”罢了。
如何使单词“起死回生”呢？我的办法是——背课文！
课文不局限于教科书，也可以是讲演稿，新闻评论，散文……总之，就是能把一个个冰冷的单词变成生机勃勃的故事的文章。在大量的整段的背诵中，多次的重复不断激活记忆的单词，其用法自然而然就深入骨髓了。实际上，这种“深入骨髓”就形成了学语言最重要的“语感”！
4、 复习间隔合理，可以省时高效
英语是一门记忆量很大的学科，有效的记忆就成了一个关键。著名科学家茅以升先生，是个记忆力超群的人。人们问到他的记忆秘诀，他的回答是：重复！重复！再重复！重复被人们称为学习之母。不重复，记住的知识就会在遗忘率的支配下，不多久就只剩下一点儿“残汤剩饭”。心理学家发现：两次复习的时间间隔至少应大于是30分钟，但应小于是16小时。因为，在已经记清了一批单词的情况下，如果在职30分钟内就开始复习，不仅不能提高记忆的效果，反而会对大脑巩固原有的记忆内容的生理过程形成干扰，是弊大于利；而且16小时以后再复习，被遗忘的单词就比较多，白花了精力。
5、 把英语作为一门文化来学
正如不懂中国文化就不能理解“中庸之道”、“墨守成规”一样，缺乏西方文化常识就难以理解什么叫“This is my Waterloo!”(“这是我的滑铁卢！”指一次失败。)
因此，要想把英语学深学透，必须把英语不仅仅作为语言，而且作为文化去感悟！而这，在我看来，也许是英语学习最有魅力的地方。
如何培养自制力
有的人管得住自己，有的人管不住自己。管得住自己的人不仅不会沦为“人渣”，还有可能成为“人杰”。管不住自己的人不仅不会成为“人杰”，还有可能成为“人渣”。
所谓“管得住自己”，就是有足够的自制力推动自己做该做的事，并阻止自己不做不该做的事。
几种类型题的学习方法
怎样做完形填空题 完形填空题是一篇短文，中间留有10个空白，每个空白为一题，每题有四个选择项，要求考生在全面理解内容的基础上选择一个最佳答案，使短文的意思和结构恢复完整。这部分考试的目的是检查考生综合运用语言的能力。 本题考查的重点是语法结构，也有一些常用词和惯用语的用法。这些问题都在前面几章讨论过了，不同的是前面那些部分都是单句，我们只要对一个句子进行分析，从中找出解题的线索；这里是短文，解题时不能孤立地看一个句子，还要顾及上下文地关系，有些解题的线索可能要从与之相关的别的句子里去找。可以说它不仅像语法或词汇题，还和阅读理解题有相通的一面。 做完形填空题，最好是跳开空格，先将短文快速通读一遍，对短文要说的内容有个大致的了解。然后按照解语法或词汇题的方法，参照上下文选择答案。 如《样题》地完形填空部分，我们粗粗看了一遍后知道它说的是英语句子的含义和语境的关系。有些题的解法和前三章所说的思路一样，不再。我们看看不大一样的例子。如第4题的四个选择项是： A. moreover B. And C. Hence D. Consequently 这四个词都可以来承接前后两个句子的意思。我们看它的前一句说：“它的后面有个问号。”接下来说：“有时‘How are you?’是一个问句。”这两个句子如果孤立地看没有联系，不成文章。要是我们在后一句前加了Hence（因此），那就表示出因果关系，上下文在逻辑上语气就连贯了。事实上C就是最佳答案。 再如第9题的四个选择项是： A. so B. such C. this D. thus 选什么为答案同样要看前一句话：“但是多数时候我们说这些话时，不要求别人回答。”根据它，我们选A为答案。为什么呢？因为so这个词可以代替前文的词语或意思，具体到这一句，它实际代表了in such a way 。其余三个词是起不了这个作用的。
关于听力的一个建议 听力和阅读是紧密联结在一起的，阅读文章不流畅顺利，意思不明白的，往往在听力上也多少存在一些问题。所以，首先要注意阅读能力，多记忆例句和背诵英文课文等，能够脱口而出的时候，听的时候也就很容易明白文章在说什么。这是最重要的。其次是做题技巧，拿到试卷，在每组题前，首先快速浏览题目和选项，大致推测内容可能是什么，这有助于听，尤其是长篇文章的听。其次，注意题型都是有规律的，比如对话测试中一般考察时间、价格、数字，简单的事实推断等，快速浏览的时候就要注意它大致属于哪一类，听的时候也便有重点了。其次是长篇文章，注意开始和结尾部分是最重要的，尤其是第一句和最后一句，往往是命题的出处。还有就是一般出题的部分，读到此处的时候往往语速会减慢，或者比较清晰。最主要的还是口语和阅读，这方面强的话，辅以一定技巧，攻克听力当不是难事。
