“狗叼着肉朝那条河走去，走到河水中时，狗不经意地朝河里一看，水里竟然还有一条狗。狗不知道其实那是自己的影子。狗看见河里的狗口中叼着的肉比自己这块大恨多。狗要那块大的肉，便立即张开嘴，去夺那块大肉。”
“狗一张口，肉掉在河里，被河水冲走了。狗又望望河里的那条狗，它的嘴也没有肉了。”
“两块肉都没有了，这个结果令狗沮丧不已。”
“唉！”神鸟叹了口气说，“这狗也挺可怜的，不过要是它没那么贪心，就能吃上一块肉了。”
可汗高兴地说：“你叹气了。你要信守诺言，跟我回去。”神鸟无可奈何地说：“好吧。”
可汗和神鸟一起回家去了。
