I pondered deeply, then, over the adventures of the jungle. And after some work with a colored pencil I succeeded in making my first drowing,My Drawing Number One. It looked like this:
I showed my masterpiece to the grown-ups, and asked them whether the drawing frightened them.
But they answered:"Frighten? Why should any one be frightened by a hat?"
My drawing was not a picture of a hat. It was a picture of a boa constrictor digesting an elephant. But since the grown-ups were not able to understand it, I made another drawing: I drew the inside of the boa constrictor,so that the grown-ups could see it clearly. 首先我覺得這本書的童話世界，就是小王子再來地球前周遊過的世界塑造的很不合理，雖然是童話，但起碼是應該建立在一定合理性基礎上的，因為人們很容易會對這世界結構和本質提出很多疑問。比如小王子住在地球外的太陽系中的一個小行星上，自己住的地方小的只能容納三個小火山和一朵花，那他如何吃飯，如何掌握語言的，如何穿梭於不同的星球之間呢，他是怎麼誕生的？還有他周遊過的那些星球，為什麼總是一個人，他們來自哪，他們的穿著怎麼來的，他們怎樣呼吸，是否會死掉？
當然這些問題本身就不值得探討的，整部書的意義和價值在於它所包含的寓言以及關於它對沉陷於俗務和繁忙之中的人的嘲諷。
