在人教版高一英語的下冊的Unit 19,曾經談論過一些關於農業的話題,學生對中國早期的出名的農業家賈思勰有了一定的了解。人教版高三英語的Unit 4這個單元以Green World 為話題,讓學生初步了解一些植物學方面的內容,如植物的分類、栽培以及植物學的發展的歷程等等;語言技能和很多的語言點幾乎都是圍繞介紹綠色世界這一中心話題而展開的。要求學生能夠運用所學的內容對相關話題進行流利的表述。

在READING部分,介紹了植物學正式成為一門科學的歷史形成過程。重點介紹了兩個為植物學發展做出過卓越貢獻的重要人物林厄尼斯與班克斯。他們以獨特的歸類的方式對植物進行分類,從而征服了整個世界。

在POST-READING 部分,針對READING部分的相關內容設計了5個練習。第1個練習以選擇填空的形式考查學生對課文細節內容的了解。第2-5小題以問句的形式進一步考查學生對課文重點內容的了解。

在本單元的Reading當中,文章比較長,有很多有的新單詞,個別的句子非常難理解,學生在閱讀當中一定會遇到一定的困難。因此,我採用了一些靈活的實用的教學方法(如Scanning and skimming method和Task-based method),幫助學生理解文章的內容,努力提高閱讀課的教學效果。具體做法如下:

1、 解讀標題 The Birth of a Science、 這能幫助學生快速了解文章的內容。對提高閱讀效果有很大的幫助。 老師可向學生設問:What Botany?讓學生思考並回答。

2、 通讀課文,了解細節。老師可向學生提出問題:How many people are mentioned in the passage? 讓學生快速閱讀並尋找此問題的答案。

3、 深層了解,歸納課文大意。What the main idea of the passage? 讓學生歸納文章的大意,從而幫助學生理解整篇文章的內容。

4、 升華主題。What can we learn from the passage? 讓學生能聯系實際,學有所獲。
