1、《熱與塵》Heat and Dust
作者：[英]露絲·普拉瓦爾·傑哈布瓦拉
介紹：五十年，兩代女性，印度的溽暑與煙塵中，相異而別樣的愛與糾葛。英國文學最高獎項布克獎獲獎作品。

1、要想提高英語，有一項內容是萬萬不可忽視的—單詞。不管你在「聽說讀寫」下了多少苦功夫，只要詞彙量少，那便很難有質的進步。所以想要提高英語的第一點便是「背單詞」。
2、這里給大家簡單介紹下三種核心背單詞法。
（1）閱讀記憶
顧名思義，閱讀記憶指的是通過閱讀英文文章與資料來記憶單詞。在閱讀過程中，可以按照將生詞圈出、反復研讀句子、勾畫片語、了解替換詞彙、搞定熟詞辟義（如husband名詞作為丈夫、動詞作為節儉地）的順序對單詞進行記憶。
優點：能通過語境，從文章中了解單詞實際及具體的用法；印象深刻；比較有趣
缺點：不能在短期內快速增加詞彙量
（2）詞根、詞綴、詞源、字母學規律
英語單詞中大約有三分之二的單詞含有詞根詞綴，通過詞根詞綴來記憶可以解決掉大部分單詞。通常情況下，一個詞的前綴表示肯定、否定、數字以及方向；後綴確定詞性；而詞根則表示該詞的意義。相比之下，詞源與字母學規律的記憶更適用於單音節詞彙的記憶。
優點：短期內能迅速突破單詞數量；有效記憶
缺點：難以使用到自己的語句中；記憶過程枯燥；容易忘記
（3）聯想
編故事、編口訣、利用諧音法等聯想方式幫助記憶詞彙。如前段時間網路上流行的thank you（三克油）、twohands（偷漢子）等，都屬於聯想記憶的范疇。
優點：避免記憶詞彙時出現枯燥與乏味的狀態
缺點：不是所有單詞都能使用這一方式記憶
4、背單詞很重要的一點就是反復，每天都要將之前背過的單詞再復習鞏固一遍，不然很容易在刷完一遍後發現真正記住的沒幾個詞。
