1.「as+adj/adv+as或not so(as)+adj/adv+as.」句型。該句型常用來描述兩個比較對象的程度上的相似或不同(即平時說的「等級比較和不等級比較」)。例如：
My computer is not so(as) expensive as yours.我的電腦不如你的貴重。
2.「as many/few+可數名詞復數+as」或「as much/little(少的)+不可數名詞+as」。前者描述數目上的接近，後者描述量的相近。例如：
You may borrow as many books as you can.你能借多少書就借多少。
「Drink as much water as you can.」the doctor said to him.醫生對他說到：「你要盡可能的多喝些水。」
3.「主語+比較級+than any other…」結構表示：主語所描述的事物比其他任何一個都……比較級形式表示最高級含義。例如：
Li Ming is much cleverer than any other student in their class.李明是他們班中最聰明的學生。
注意：若比較范圍不同，than後應用「any+可數名詞的復數形式+其他」。例如：

4.諸如not,never之類的否定詞與形容詞或副詞的比較級連用，表示最高級含義。意為：再沒有比…更…的了。例如：
It is not a better idea.這是再好不過的一個辦法了。
I have never heard such an interesting story.我從來沒有聽過比這更有趣的故事了。
5.「形容詞+to」結構也可表示比較含義。例如：
This kind of car is superior in quality to that.這種汽車的質量比那一種好得多(superior to意為：優於；勝過。)
Li ping is three years senior to Liu Gang.李平比劉剛大三歲。(senior to意為：年長於；資格老於；地位高於。)
6.「no+比較級+than」結構表示對兩個比較對象都進行否定(可由neither…nor…結構來改寫)。例如：

7.「not more+比較級+than」結構表示在程度上前者不如後者。例如：

8.「形容詞比較級+than+形容詞」，意為：與其…倒不如…。例如：
Jack is much harder than clever.與其說傑克聰明，倒不如說他學慣用功。
9.would rather…than, prefer…to…, prefer to do…rather than…這三個句型表示「寧願…而不願…；喜歡…勝過…；寧願做…而不願做…」含義。雖無比較級形式，但表示比較級含義。例如：
She would rather die than give in.她寧死不屈。
He preferred to go out rather than stay home.他寧願出去也不願呆在家裡。
10.「The+比較級…，the+比較級…」。該結構意為「越…，越…」。例如：
The more difficult the questions are, the less likely he is able to answer them.問題越難，他回答出來的可能性就越小。
11.what有時也可以表示「比較」關系，說明兩種事物的相同或相似性。what的該種用法常用於書面語，用來加強修辭效果，含有比喻含義，相當於as，意為「好比…；正如…；就像…一樣」。what的該類用法共有3種情況：

Summer is the great season for all sports in the open air. It is the season for football which is often called the national sport because of its popularity. I usually watch television and read the newspaper reports about the football results of the little leagues. During the summer I like to go to the beach often because it is very close to my home. I usually go there ring the summer vacation to relax after many months in school in the city. I feel very comfortable with the familiar quiet life of the villagers.
