但是，若prevalence estimate為一個大標題，多解釋為「流行病學統計分析」，例如，「The survey methods and prevalence estimates of mental retardation in Australia 」（這是一個論文標題），該標題就解釋為「澳大利亞智力殘疾的調查方法和流行病學統計分析」。若在文中出現，多解釋為「某種流行病的患病率」，例如「Prevalence estimates for IBS」就是指「IBS患病率」。

overall percentage 就是單純的表示「總的比率」，因為統計分析中，常常會出現很多的比率，overall percentage就是表示總的比率，一般是文中出現分組時，它就表示各組整體的百分比。例如「The overall percentage of cranial nerve involvement」表示「全組顱神經受累率」
