英語翻譯技巧：

第一、省略翻譯法

這與最開始提到的增譯法相反，就是要求你把不符合漢語，或者英語的表達的方式、思維的習慣或者語言的習慣的部分刪去，以免使所翻譯出的句子沉雜累贅。

第二、合並法

合並翻譯法就是把多個短句子或者簡單句合並到一起，形成一個復合句或者說復雜句，多出現在漢譯英的題目里出現，比如最後會翻譯成定語從句、狀語從句、賓語從句等等。

這是因為漢語句子裡面喜歡所謂的「形散神不散」，即句子結構鬆散，但其中的語意又是緊密相連的，所以為了表達出這種感覺，漢語多用簡單句進行寫作。而英語則不同，它比較強調形式，結構嚴謹，所以會多用復雜句、長句。因此，漢譯英時還需要注意介詞、連詞、分詞的使用。

第三、拆分法

當然，英譯漢的時候，就要採取完全相反的戰術——拆分法，即把一個長難句細細拆分為一個個小短句、簡單句，並適當補充詞語，是句子通順。最後，注意還需要按照漢語習慣調整語序，達到不僅能看懂而且不拗口的目標。

■ 用英文思維是許多英語學習者都希望達到的一種境界，因為這是用英語流暢地表達思想的基礎。對於一個生活在非英語環境中的中國學生來說，要做到部分或全部用英文來思考確有很大難度，但也不是可望而不可及。從自己學習英語的經歷中，我體會到堅持大量閱讀是實現 這一目標最有效的途徑之一。
■ 首先要選好難易程度適中的原文書籍：一般以每頁（大32開）不超過八個生詞為宜。其次是閱讀方法：要像讀中文小說那樣快速瀏覽，不默讀，不查字典，更不通過翻譯來理解原文的意思。遇見不認識的生詞，要根據上下文來推測。第三是要堅持天天都讀，而且要給自己 規定每天必須完成的閱讀任務。只要堅持下去，幾個月，半年之後，肯定會看到成效。

■ 要注重寫的練習。強調聽和說，聽，說領先，是對的；經常閱讀，大量閱讀，也是必要的。但對於排在"四會"末尾的"寫"，千萬不要認為它可有可無。"寫"在學英語的過程中有其特別重要和不可替代的作用。只要是寫一篇短文，就得思考內容和觀點，組織材料，安排層次，斟酌詞句，這是極好的鍛煉。而且寫對語言的正確性和表達的准確性的要求比口語要高些，因為可以考慮和修改。這對提高語言質量十分有益。
■ 要關心中國文化。中國人都應關心中國文化，主修英語或別的外語的朋友們更要注意對中國文化的學習和鑽研，因為在外語上用很多時間，可能會忽略中國文化的學習，結果是對所學語言國家的情況和文化特點知道得多，而對中國的文化特點知道得反而少。中國文化源遠流 長，有很多寶貴的成份，我們應該珍視這份遺產，努力予以發揚光大。
