一、地址綜述
名片的主要功能是通聯，所以在名片上寫上詳細的家庭或單位通訊地址是必不可少的。如下例：
住址：浙江省台州市黃岩區天長路18號201室
翻譯成英文就是：
Address: Room 201, 18 Tianchang Road, Huangyan District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province.
對照上例，翻譯時有幾點需要注意：
中文地址的排列順序是由大到小：×國×省×市×區×路×號，而英文地址則剛好相反，是由小到大：×號×路(Road)，×區(District)，×市(City)，×省(Province)，×國。
地名專名部分(如"黃岩區"的"黃岩"部分)應使用漢語拼音，且需連寫，如Huangyan 不宜寫成 Huang Yan。
各地址單元間要加逗號隔開。

二、行政區劃英譯
行政區劃是地址中最高一級單位，我國幅員遼闊，行政區劃較復雜，總體上可分成五級(括弧內所注為當前國內通用譯名)：
1.國家(State)：中華人民共和國(the People's Republic of China; P.R.China; P.R.C; China)
2.省級(Provincial Level):省(Province).自治區(Autonomous Region ).直轄市(Municipality directly under the Central Government, 簡稱Municipality);特別行政區(Special Administration Region; SAR)
3.地級(Prefectural Level): 地區(Prefecture).自治州(Autonomous Prefecture).市(Municipality;City);盟(Prefecture);
4.縣級(County Level)：縣(County).自治縣(Autonomous County).市(City).市轄區(District), 旗(County)
5.鄉級(Township Level):鄉(Township).民族鄉(Ethnic Township).鎮(Town).街道辦事處(Sub-district)。
應用舉例：
(1)上海市崇明縣中興鎮 à Zhongxing Town, Chongming County, Shanghai (Municipality).
(2) 內蒙古自治區呼倫貝爾盟à Hulunbeir Prefecture，Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

三、行政區劃英譯分析
以上行政區劃英譯大多數是國內普遍接受的，但尚有部分存在爭議，現分析如下：
1.關於"市"的英譯。
我國的"市"層級復雜，從上而下有三個級別，目前較通行的做法是將"直轄市"譯為Municipality ,地級市有些人譯為Municipality,有些人譯為City, 縣級市一概譯作City。
筆者以為，如果從城-鄉對比及城市功能角度去闡述某一個市，毫無疑問所有的城市都可稱作City，上海也可稱作Shanghai City或者City of Shanghai。但如果從行政區域概念去翻譯某個市就另當別論，直轄市譯為Municipality，縣級市譯為City,是板上釘釘不可更改了，問題出在中間的地級市上。
Municipality的釋義是: 1. a city, town , or other district possessing corporate existence and usually its own local government. (引自《韋氏辭典》)
從上述釋義可以看出，Municipality的適用范圍很廣，可大可小，大至我們的直轄市，小至一個小城鎮。
在英.美兩國，Municipality不作為一級行政區劃，一般以"市政"含義和City混用，但在世界許多地方，如菲律賓.以色列等國， Municipality 經常被用作省一級或省以下行政區域名稱。
在加拿大，Municipality也作為省下的一級行政區域，如在安大略省下就有一個滑鐵盧地區市，叫作Regional Municipality of Waterloo，該地區市下又轄8個自治市--Municipality(在加國，人口較多的Municipality 叫作City)。
由於我國地級市具有管轄縣級市的功能，這樣就出現了City管City的尷尬情況，而且City還要管轄廣闊的農村County，與世界各國大都把 City限制在城市范圍的做法不統一，比如在日本和美國都是County下包括多個Cities，跟我國剛好相反。
據此，筆者贊同將行政區劃意義上的地級市及直轄市譯為Municipality(直轄市全稱是Municipality directly under the central government)。 而將市本級--市轄區，即功能意義上的城市譯為City。
如上例："上海市崇明縣"應譯成Chongming County , Shanghai Municipality.
但"上海市南京路"可譯成Nanjing Road, Shanghai City。
再如：杭州市是一個地級市，所以"杭州市政府"宜譯成：Hangzhou Municipal Government, 但："杭州市是一個旅遊城市"宜譯成：Hangzhou is a tourism city.
應用舉例:浙江省台州(市)溫嶺市大溪鎮à Daxi Town, Wenling City, Taizhou Municipality, Zhejiang Province.
四、略寫和縮寫
地址的表述務求簡潔，故應在達意的基礎上盡可能採用略寫和縮寫形式。
五、行政區域通名可省略
中國人寫地址喜歡將省或市等都註明，但按英語習慣，則可以省略;況且，省一級及較大的市大家都熟知，其後的行政區域通名完全可以略去而不致引起理解困難;如果需要進一步簡化，則以此類推，可將一些縣甚至鎮的區域名也省掉。
如：中國浙江省杭州市餘杭區××鄉
××Township, Yuhang, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, P.R.C.
六、在地址中間可直接插入郵編。
我國的通行寫法是將郵政編碼另起一行，前面標上"郵編(Postal Code; Zip; P.C.)"兩字，但英美各國的慣例卻是將郵編直接寫在州或城市的後面，如：
美國：1120 Lincoln Street, Denver, CO 80203，USA
(中譯：美國科羅拉多州丹佛市林肯街第1120號，郵編：80203)
註：CO是美國Colorado 州的縮寫，在跟郵政編碼合用時，州名一般均以縮寫形式出現。
英國：60 Queen Victoria Street， London EC4N 4TW
(中譯：倫敦維多利亞女王大街60號，郵編：EC4N 4TW)
由此，我們的地名如果也參照英美各國的方法，將郵編插入到地址中間，可以節省大量空間。
如：中國浙江省台州市黃椒路102號，郵編：318020
102 Huangjiao Road, Taizhou, Zhejiang 318020,China。
七、省市縮寫
由於有了郵編，所以城市或省的專名也可採用縮寫而不會造成混亂，除了香港(Hong KongàHK).澳門(MacaoàMO).台灣(TaiwanàTW)，我國大陸各省一直沒有廣泛認同的英文縮寫。可喜的是，為擴展互聯網域名資源，信息產業部於20xx年十一月二十二日發布了《關於中國互聯網路域名體系公告》，公告中首次開放行政區域類二級國內域名，給全國34個省(市.自治區.特別行政區)規定了二個字母的代碼;筆者認為，隨著互聯網的深入發展，該代碼將自然而然地成為各省區的縮寫名稱，可以放心使用;信息產業部採用的代碼與英譯名縮寫基本上吻合，只有內蒙古(英譯：Inner Mongolia, 縮寫：IM,而信息部的代碼是利用了純漢語拼音，為NM).(英譯：, 而二級域名使用的仍是漢語拼音XZ)兩個詞出現不協調現象，但這並不影響該縮寫系統的推廣。

八、村居街道的英譯
居於地址體系的中間位置的是一些傳統的村居街道及新興的各種小區.新村.工業區等，其中?quot;村(委會)"."居(委會)"既是區域名稱，又是行政體系的基層組織名稱。
九、樓房室號的表達
地址的最低一級涉及到對具體場所的命名及房號的'標注。如：5幢302室.3號樓2單元102室。
這里的"幢""棟""幾號樓"實際上是同一回事，一般均以Building… 來表示;"室"一般譯作Room 或Suite。
上述兩例可分別譯成：Suite 302, Building 5;Room 102, Unit 2, Building 3。
此外，在這一級地址中還經常出現諸如"單元"，"…大廈"，"…層"等術語，詳見下表(略)：

國內地址的英文地址填寫誤區
國內地址的英文地址填寫，很多人其實在填寫的時候都有一個誤區，他們都希望把地址填的越地道越好，就像我上面寫的。但我們應該問自己一個問題，地址填完以後到底是做什麼用的？
假如你的地址是北京市朝陽區建國門大街23號樓302室，那地道的美國人會寫成：
#302，23 Jianguomen Avenue, Chaoyang District, Beijing, 100000
舉例說，如果你是申請學校，學校最後會直接復制你的地址，然後列印在快遞單上快遞公司看到China，便會帶著給你的Offer飄揚過海送到中國，在中國再由中國人分拆，看到Beijing就再送到北京，到了北京後分派給郵遞員來送遞。這整個過程中，沒有一個外國人會去研究你的地址，更不要說你寫的地道與否。所以寫的太地道的結果就是給你送快遞的小夥子會對著你的地址頭痛。
所以，寫英文地址時建議除了把城市放到最後，其餘按照中文規范，正常用漢語拼音填寫，不要發明諸如 建國門外大街（Jianguomen Outer Street)這種英語地址。回到上面的例子，寫成下面這樣就完全可以保證寄到了：

My hometown, a village locating beside a small river, is a wonderful place with beautiful scenery surrounded. Because of the poor geographical environment and without an asphalt road, the whole village is poor and people』s lives are tough. Generally, people grow rice and some other crops for a living. Most young people work at the city, leaving their parents and children at home, which is the status of the vast majority of rural area. It seems that only in this way can rural people live a better life.
