中繼器是區域網環境下用來延長網路距離的最簡單最廉價的網路互聯設備，操作在OSI的物理層，中繼器對在線路上的信號具有放大再生的功能，用於擴展區域網網段的長度(僅用於連接相同的區域網網段)。
中繼器（RP repeater）是連接網路線路的一種裝置，常用於兩個網路節點之間物理信號的雙向轉發工作。中繼器主要完成物理層的功能，負責在兩個節點的物理層上按位傳遞信息，完成信號的復制、調整和放大功能，以此來延長網路的長度。由於存在損耗，在線路上傳輸的信號功率會逐漸衰減，衰減到一定程度時將造成信號失真，因此會導致接收錯誤。中繼器就是為解決這一問題而設計的。它完成物理線路的連接，對衰減的信號進行放大，保持與原數據相同。一般情況下，中繼器的兩端連接的是相同的媒體，但有的中繼器也可以完成不同媒體的轉接工作。從理論上講中繼器的使用是無限的，網路也因此可以無限延長。事實上這是不可能的，因為網路標准中都對信號的延遲范圍作了具體的規定，中繼器只能在此規定范圍內進行有效的工作，否則會引起網路故障。

㈤ AM是什麼意思中文

（1）AM，（ante meridiem的縮寫）通常出現在12小時制式時間中，指一天中的午前（12點之前），如9：00 ante meridiem表示早上9：00。

（2）Am是A小調和弦，用吉他彈奏的指法是：食指--2弦一品，中指--4弦二品，無名指--3弦二品。

（3）AM大氣質量。大氣對地球表面接收太陽光的影響程度被定義為大氣質量（air mass）。大氣質量為零的狀態（AM 0）,指得是在地球外空間接收太陽光的情況，適用於人造衛星和宇宙飛船等應用場合。

（4）調幅（AM）。調幅也就是通常說的中波，范圍在530---1600KHz。調幅是用聲音的高低變為幅度的變化的電信號。傳輸距離較遠，但受天氣因素影響較大，適合省際電台的廣播。

（5）AM客戶經理(AccountManager)的縮寫。客戶經理既是銀行與客戶關系的代表，又是銀行對外業務的代表。
